POPULAR QUESTIONS
You initially book a 60-minute introductory lesson as an opportunity to make up your mind. Then, the minimum number of hours for each booking is 10 hours of lessons.
Once you have started your online tuition course, you can purchase more hours within our booking system.
Before committing to any of our packages, you will have an introductory lesson to check our teaching style and make sure we are the right fit for you. We will also discuss your needs in more detail, and based on this information, your lessons or course will be tailored to help you achieve your goals.
Your progress is monitored during each lesson. Your personal preferences, which may change as your Spanish improves, will also be updated.
After every lesson, we will be happy to give you homework. All the materials you need are provided during the lessons.
You will be taught by one of us (Marino or Sara) online, usually via Skype or Zoom.
If you prefer face-to-face lessons, we will choose one of our colleagues in London who meets your needs. Please provide as much information as possible on your booking form about your goals for the course so we can find the best teacher for you.
One-to-one or small group sessions take place online and/or at your home, office or any convenient location in central London, Barcelona or Malaga.
Online learning can be as good or even better than in-person learning. After more than 10 years of teaching in London, our experience shows that our one-to-one online students perform better than those receiving face-to-face instruction. Research has also shown this tendency, but it has to be done right.
Some may see the lack of face-to-face tuition as something negative. Our experience is that online sessions are a greater challenge and build confidence for listening and speaking skills. The learner focuses more on listening to “the music of the language”, and there is more focus on the auditory experience.
We recommend you give online lessons a go, and if you feel online learning isn’t for you, you can always go back to the traditional way.
We usually use the platform Skype and Zoom. However, we are very flexible if you have other preferences such as Teams and Hangouts.
Skype lessons are fun and interactive. We can see each other and share screens. We can explain many things by looking at the same handouts, listening to the same audios, watching the same videos and opening the same websites. You can also exchange files through the system, use the text box in real-time to check your spelling, receive feedback on your writing and chat conversations are automatically saved after each session and can be tracked back – also for groups.
Sadly, WhatsApp and FaceTime don’t have the tools we require to give high-quality online lessons.
The lessons are usually of 1-hour long. However, we are open to all suggestions, so you can decide on the length that suits you best.
One-to-one courses last for as long as you need to. They’re highly personalised courses and aim to help you learn Spanish quickly and effectively. In our first session, we’ll gather all the information we need to tailor and provide a study plan based on your goals and learning style.
We’re all different and we can’t give you an accurate answer without consulting with you.
According to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), it takes approximately 200 guided learning hours for a language learner to progress from one level to the next (A1-A2. B1-B2, C1-C2).
Our one-to-one online lessons reduce these figures, especially if you have mastered the basics with our online self-study course. As a matter of fact, 90% of our students are learning Spanish quicker online (not our words – the words of our students)
Once you complete our Student Need Analysis Form and have paid for the first lesson, we will schedule the session. There is usually a short lead time, but we promise we’ll do our best to get you started asap.
You initially pay for a single lesson as an opportunity to make up your mind. Then, if you decide to continue, you will need to pay for blocks of classes.
You can pay online using MasterCard or Visa (credit or debit card).
All you need is to fill in our Need Analysis Form.
All online tuition is scheduled directly with us.
You must be prepared and ready to start the lesson 5 minutes before the scheduled time. If you need to reschedule or cancel a lesson in an emergency, then please give us as much notice as possible:
Rescheduling Lessons:
– You must give 24 hours notice to reschedule the lesson.
– If you do not notify us as above, the lesson is forfeited.
– If you do not log on to join the lesson within 15 minutes of the agreed start time, the lesson will be forfeited.
Yes! We can help you revise and reinforce what you have learnt in your group class. We can also expand the content to speed up the learning process and give you a head start.
Absolutely! You can send us messages and questions at any time by Skype, e-mail or WhatsApp with feedback and advice being returned to you within one working day.
You aren’t a child. Therefore you’ll almost always have a foreign accent. We’ll help you achieve clear and pleasant pronunciation that will give native speakers something to wonder about – they’ll think you’re from a Spanish-speaking country, but they won’t be able to tell which one.
Yes! We have lots of fluent students who take regular lessons to keep up the level of their Spanish. Remember, use it or lose it!
Absolutely! We’ll prepare you for any of your Spanish exams (DELE, GCSE, A-level or degree level). We’ll give you simple study tips and revision techniques to pass them with flying colours!
Your Spanish is an investment. You need to look at the long-term value that hiring the right tutor will give you.
We have years of experience helping learners of all kinds of backgrounds with their Spanish on a one-to-one basis. That, in return, has taught us how to help you be most successful, like being adaptable, for a start. Flexibility and interaction skills, too. These qualities are essential, especially when dealing with people. We are all different, after all.
We’d be working collaboratively with you to make sure we achieve your learning goals quickly and effectively, delivering you a return on your investment.
